Warren Gunmetal Flask

I’m one to really only have a drink with others and sometimes you’re out with friends and need a swig of something tasty. I recommend that everyone has a flask for a “conceal and carry” of a delicious spirit.

On a trip to Minneapolis, I was at a private shopping event with my team at Martin & Patrick. It is a shop full of nifty items—apparel and backpacks, furnishings and decor, personal grooming and fun trinkets. I could have spent thousands there. But having been on a hunt for a flask since mine was “acquired” by an unknown person at a party, I stumbled on the Warren Gunmetal Flask.

It was one of those situations that I new it was what I wanted—I need not look it over, think about it, look at the prices—I picked it up and bought it.

Simple is its design, this super-polished 304 stainless steal, 180mL (6 fl oz) is a work of minimalist art. While it is called ‘gunmetal,’ I call it my Space Black Flask as it nearly matches my Space Black Apple Watch. (Part of why it was purchased, too. #nerd) It is just about a perfect flask. No one is above its design and surely will say “wow, this is a cool flask.”

Like all precision items, it does come with two important caveats: one must only hand wash and it is fingerprint prone. I wash it after every excursion and store it in a velvet pouch. Yes, how very pretentious of me but I take care of my things and I spent much time looking for just the right flask and need not want to worry about it for some time.

However, I imagine that with the right care, the wear this flask will acquire over the ages will prove to be beautiful too. In twenty years, perhaps it will be scratched, dented, and scuffed but may add to its, then, vintage charm.

At $50, it is not an expensive flask and no doubt a fine item to add to ones fine item collection.
